Symbaloo, the Next Generation Startpage
Todd, the big boss behind SocialXperience, asked me to blog about
Symbaloo. Well, maybe this sounds weird for a guy who's using the web
every day, but until now I never blogged. So here we go.
First I'll explain something about the idea behind Symbaloo.
In my opinion the web is characterised by a weak usability. This is
because of how the web is designed: it's a bit of a mess! There is no or
little organisation! Great!! I like it ;)
But is it accessible to everyone? Is it easy enough? No, I don't think
so.
Maybe accessibility sounds to you like we're working on internet
participation of grandmothers and fathers but it affects everybody.
Imagine your first VHS recorder. It cost me 2 hours to understand how to
operate it! I have experienced the same on the web... The truth is that
most technical devices and websites are poorly designed so that it's use
is so difficult or annoying.
Our mission is about making Symbaloo the easiest start on the internet.
It is that simple you could have thought of it yourself.

At this moment Symbaloo is very personal and not really a social thing
but that will change soon. At the beginning of September you will be
able to get a login on Symbaloo.com so that you're able to use your
personal Symbaloo from every spot in the world. An automatic login for
your messenger and email is designed at the moment and we have had some
inputs about sharing your Symbaloo desktop, sending suggestions to other
users etc. If you have some other suggestions feel free to post!
Enjoy symbaloo-ing!
